In today’s networked society, media forms such as social networks, blogs, are no longer imagined forums or news ticker. World powers depend on constantly varying stock prices and also the average citizen relies not only on its newspaper of daily, to learn about current events on this planet. “Primaries of the left” should be also an instrument for the modernisation of journalism. The main idea for this project was created in team work with the project manager of Le Monde, Florentin Maurin, Boris Razon editor-in-Chief and the journalist Nabil Wakim. Eventually Le decided moons to KTM advance to work with a company with many years of practical experience on serious games. For the entire team of the project a new thrilling universe when developing a system and a game engines, which should enable different themes opened up with “Primaries of the left” to cover and to satisfy the journalism.
So, for example a karikaturen – illustration-like graphics was chosen because the Newsgame will be used mainly by the editorial team. By the player selects its candidates, the style of his campaign and his political orientation, he provides a strategy on the legs and debates with his opponents, to bring the voters to his side. He will discover a preset schedule, their use and main actors in a light and playful way. Because the Newsgame relies on journalistic work, which consists basically in it, to convey current events impartially the project is intended to not influence the political orientation of the player at least as little as it could be a deeper knowledge of policy. The serious game went online on June 24 and has enjoyed in a week alone more than 40,000 played games.
